We all know and love them for their adorable moments, like when John jumped on stage to congratulate Emily after she won an award.
So when John appeared on the Tonight Show on Tuesday to talk about his new movie A Quiet Place – which also stars Emily – he obviously took the opportunity to gush about how amazing she is.
When he was asked if he was nervous to direct his wife, John said that he didn't know what to expect from the experience, but it ended up making him appreciate her even more.

"She is the most unbelievably talented person, powerful person, kindest person. She makes everyone around her better," he went on. "So that was my experience."

But apparently not EVERYONE knows and loves them as a couple, because while he was on the show, John also told a story that has honestly left me reeling.

So, he was on his way to London to visit Emily on the set of Mary Poppins (cute!), and while he was going through customs, he ran into a little trouble with the customs agent.

John made his first mistake when the customs agent asked him about his acting career.
(As a British person, I can confirm we get very touchy about Americans stealing our sitcoms.)

The agent then asked what he was doing in London, and John told him he was visiting his wife, famous actress Emily Blunt.

And the customs agent just straight up couldn't believe it.

I don't know what kind of person doesn't know about the gift to our planet that is the Blunt-Krasinskis, but this guy was one of them, and he was NOT IMPRESSED.

And he ended up getting so mad that John was married to Emily that he just sent him on his way.
